The Ackerman Family

I photographed Anna and Adam’s wedding many years ago, and it was a joy to photograph their first son and now their second. If you’ve been following my work for awhile, you know this is one of my favorite parts of my job. It is such a gift to be invited into my clients’ lives as they start their own families.

Anna is a designer and invited me to her gorgeous Brentwood home for this newborn session. Fun fact: this home used to be her grandparents, and she would dream of ways to redesign it as a little girl. As you can tell, she put her own beautiful touch on it.

For newborn sessions, I get a great variety of the whole family, just baby, any older siblings, all in the comfort of your home. My goal is for the photos to feel like glimpses into your real life.

I was pregnant with my little girl during this photo session, and it was so fun for me to see how sweet their five year old was with his newborn brother since that’s the age gap between my children, too. It gave me hope! Sure enough, the age gap has been a beautiful blessing.
