Caroline & Steven's Ravenswood Mansion Wedding

We chose Ravenswood because it was closest to where we used to spend time together while we were dating. We also really loved its aesthetic and felt like it fit our style well: rolling hills, great views, and classic architecture.

I love her sense of humor, the way she sees the world, and how open-minded she is. But probably what I admire most is how supportive she is and how much she believes in me. - Steve

He is so kind to everyone and shows me that kindness every day. I love the way his mind works (unlike mine in every way!) and it makes our conversations so interesting and fun! And most importantly, he loves and prioritizes his family and friends. - Caroline

I remember walking down the aisle with my parents and rounding the corner and seeing Steven and all of our guests at the exact moment that our ceremony pianist played my favorite chord in La fille aux cheveux de lin. It was magical and exactly like I had always dreamed it would be.

The whole ceremony was perfect! We asked our friend Carly to officiate and she did such an amazing job helping us hone in on what was important to include. We also loved hearing Jessica and Mariam recite the readings we selected. But probably our favorite part was getting to read the vows that we wrote together in front of everyone.

My dad did an amazing job with our floating candle room! He really enjoyed the project and it looked amazing as our bar area.

Everyone's speech was amazing! We love to laugh and it was great to laugh with everyone we invited, and also great to hear our love story told by our loved ones.

Q. Any advice to current brides planning their weddings? What would you recommend they focus on/prioritize?

A. Choosing a few priorities and then letting go of the rest is the best way to go. We focused on our ceremony, and we're so glad that we did. Everyone kept telling us how much they loved our ceremony as much as our reception, which was a huge compliment!

Q. What's next for you as a couple?

A. We just bought our first house and are moving in next week! We're so excited to have a home and create new memories there.
