Josh and Hillary's Refined, Timeless, Southern Wedding in Atlanta, GA

What made you choose your ceremony or reception venues? Did they have any special significance to you?
We picked the reception venue, Piedmont Driving Club, first. My parents are members at this club, and as soon as I walked through that ballroom, I knew it would make a beautiful space for a wedding reception! I really only had three requirements when looking for space for the ceremony - a church setting, stained glass, and a pipe organ! Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to have organ music as part of the ceremony. The music was beautiful and set an exciting, joyous tone.

For the groom - what do you admire most about your wife?
I love that she's a go-getter who doesn't shy away from anything! She's never afraid to go after whatever projects are in front of her and does great work.

For the bride - what do you admire most about your husband?
I admire his ability to handle whatever life throws at him with grace and peace. He does a wonderful job of leading us closer to one another as we grow in our relationship with God.

What was it like being in front of my camera?
You helped make this time so calm and easy! We felt extremely comfortable and relaxed in front of your camera. It's very refreshing to work with someone like you who is both create and detail-oriented. Thank you for capturing the beautiful moments of our wedding weekend!

Being married in a church was important to us - we wanted God to be at the center of our ceremony. Also being surrounded by family and friends was very important to us. The pastor who married us has been part of my family's life for 20 years, all four of my grandparents were able to attend the wedding, and so many of our friends made the trip down from Nashville to celebrate with us.

The moment that stands out to me the most is the pause right before I walked down the aisle. The doors opened, and I felt a wave of joy, gratitude, and most importantly confidence before undergoing one of the most sacred events of my life. For Josh, our first look stands out to him the most. The look on his face when he first saw me is something I will never forget. I'm so happy we have that moment in time captured on film!

I will never forget walking into our reception for a sneak peak before our guests! Seeing something that had been so carefully planned for many months come together and be better than what you expected is surreal and magical. I'm in love with the escort card display, the details of lattice throughout the design (bar fronts, menu, watercolor invitation lining, balcony in the ballroom, patio & ballroom chair backs, etc), and how lush our flowers turned out. Molly's design really captured the look we were going for: refined, timeless, southern, and inviting! The candle light throughout the room and on the stage added a warm glow, which matched everyone's spirits. And when the band started up their first song for dancing - everyone rushed to the dance floor!

We took dance lessons together beforehand, which was really fun. Even after all the practicing, I still had butterflies dancing in front of everyone. Our reception was the most fun dance party, ever. We even got my dad singing Don't Stop Believin' with the band!

What's next for you as a couple?
We're continuing to fix up our early 20th century bungalow in Atlanta! We're slowly but surely turning this house into our home and taking on a lot of DIY projects.
