Rob & Kendra, Engagement Session

This session is extra special because it was for my cousin, Rob, and his beautiful fiancée, Kendra. We knew we liked Kendra when Rob started bringing her to our family Thanksgiving gatherings. They’re a dream team – attorneys by day and marathon runners in their spare time. Can you tell they’re motivated? So admirable!

We decided on some family land down in Bell Buckle, TN for the location of their engagement session this past fall. It a beautiful day and such a treat to get to see some extended family.

Here are some highlights from their engagement session plus a Q&A!

Q: How did you two meet?

A: We met through mutual friends in law school at the University of Memphis.

Q: How did he propose?

A: Rob proposed to Kendra on July 3, 2020 at his family's lake house on Tims Ford in Lynchburg, Tennessee. After a fun day of lake activities, Rob "went upstairs to check on dinner" and returned with the key to Kendra's heart - a charcuterie board and a glass of wine. They made their way down to the dock and sat on the boat, listening to music and enjoying the view. Rob waited for what felt like a lifetime for one of their favorite songs, Beyond by Leon Bridges, to start playing from the queue he had lined up ahead of time. When it did, he popped the question...and some champagne!

Q: What do you admire most about each other?

A: Kendra about Rob: I most admire Rob's patience and thoughtfulness.

A: Rob about Kendra: I most admire how intelligent and driven Kendra is.

Q: Any advice to others trying a plan a wedding this year?

A: Be flexible, read your vendor contracts and talk to them about adding flexibilities regarding rescheduling, and still plan to get married on your wedding day, regardless of whether COVID-19 permits you to celebrate with a large group.

We cannot wait to celebrate with these two and the family this fall for their destination wedding!
