Reese and Shea / Franklin TN Farm Engagement Session

This engagement session was almost too good to be true: an incredibly kind couple in love, Reese's family farm and place where he proposed, a sunny winter's day, the beautiful countryside, farm animals, a cozy campfire, a wade in the creek and Reese's mother's fruit tea. It couldn't get any better. See photos from Reese and Shea's engagement session and read more about their story below.

When and how did you two meet?   "Reese and I met while we were in school at Auburn University. Luckily for us our fraternity and sorority were always together, so we had lots of mutual friends. We also discovered that we were neighbors. I joked with him one night that he needed to bring my roommates and me brownies to be a good neighbor and welcome us to the neighborhood. To my surprise he showed up at my door the next day with brownies. We have been together ever since through college, long distance, new jobs, and new cities. This month marks five years we have been together."

"On a daily basis she will say something that will have me laughing for days. One of my favorite things about Shea is her drive. She is one of the most determined people I know. Seeing how Shea cares about her incredible family has shown me the type of wife/mother she will be to our family one day." - Reese

"Reese and I are complete opposites, and I love that we balance each other out. I am very "type A" and he is the one person that can make me slow down and enjoy the moment. I am always smiling and laughing around him. But mostly I love what an amazing person he is, he is always the person who is being friendly to a stranger, or going out of his way to help someone. Each day I try to be a more caring and compassionate person because of him." - Shea

Proposal story told by Reese:

"One of my favorite places to spend time is by the river on my parent's farm. In the process of deciding how I was going to propose to her, no place seemed more fitting to ask than down by the river. I decided I wanted three large tables set up near the rivers edge. With the help of my parents, Shea's parents, and some close family friends, we were able to set it up more beautifully than I had imagined it. The table on the far left had pictures of Shea with family and friends throughout all phases of her life. The table on the far right had my pictures with family and friends throughout all phases of my life (and a few other mementos: shotgun shells, decoys, baseballs, etc). The center table had a huge flower arrangement and pictures of the two of us. I asked Shea to go on a walk with me to let my dog, South, burn off some energy in the river. As we neared the river and walked from table to table, I talked about how much we both value our incredible families and tied it to us sharing our lives together as a new family. As a bonus, Shea's family and two closest friends were able to surprise her after I proposed. Even though I can't remember what I said during the proposal, it went more perfectly than I ever could have imagined!"

What are you most looking forward to about being married?  "We are waiting until we are married to live together. So I can not wait to build a home together. I am excited for the simple nights where we are at our home cooking dinner and walking the dogs. Of course I am looking forward to all the adventures we will have together, but mostly I am excited for the simple everyday life with him." -Shea
