F.A.Q.
Where can our session take place?
Somewhere that’s meaningful to your family. Here are some of my suggestions:
Your home! It’s easy and comfortable to you and helps tell your family’s story. Think of the kids running around the front yard, your family all sitting on the front porch together, or in the backyard swinging, playing ball or having popsicles. If you home has enough natural light inside, that’s an option too! Imagine your kids playing with their favorite toys on the floor of their rooms, or the whole family piled up on the couch. I want this to be fun for your kids!
Your favorite scenic park to go on a walk or hike
The place you got married or your first date spot
What should we wear?
Here’s my tip: Moms, plan your outfit first, and then build the family’s around yours. Select something you feel comfortable in and that feels like you! Pick a color palette of 4 or so colors. 1-2 patterns are great, too. The goal is to complement one another, not to match. This example: black, brown, tan, cream, leopard print and stripes.
What should we bring? Can we bring our dog?
I would suggest having baby wipes, tissues, waters and snacks for your kids in the car. I would leave anything you don’t need during photos in the car, since we will be walking around and moving quite a bit: phones, wallets, etc.
If you’d like to bring your dog, you’re welcome to if you’re also able to bring someone to be their handler when they’re not in photos.
I typically don’t use props as they tend to look a little forced. We will just use what is naturally in the environment.
